Territory Made

In 2017 two great Territory organisations- Territory Proud and Territory Made, are joining forces.

Following a productive and successful co working relationship as part of the 2016 Tropical Garden Fair, Territory Proud and Territory Made have decided to merge. CEO and Founder of Territory Made, Sarah Price will continue to work with both Territory Made and Territory Proud in her role as Marketing and Events Manager for Territory Proud. “Promoting and helping develop creative Territory businesses has long been a passion of mine”, said Ms Price. “By partnering with Territory Proud, I have the privilege to work with an organisation that equally shares my passion for growing and supporting Territory businesses and Territory Made can continue to flourish.

To date Territory Made has focused on hte creative area running monthly markets in the Botanical Gardens during the Dry. it is our plan to expand the brand to be relevant for a wide range of businesses who produce the full range of products in the NT. The guidelines for being ‘Territory Made’ is that at least half of the value of the final product is created in the NT. Due to the small size of our market many raw materials for products aren’t produced here but those businesses who create an end product and are doing it in the NT will be considered Territory Made. An example would be aluminium boat constructed here using aluminium for outside the NT would meet the criteria. If it is made here but falls below the 50% then the company would still qualify as Territory Proud if it has a permanent and substanitial presence in hte NT and employs Territory residents.

Businesses will be able to have a single or joint membership. The fee for the second membership will be 50% of the main memership

Subject to funding from Festivals NT on September 2nd and 3rd this year the combined might of these two great organisations in all the their glory with the inaugural Tropical Territory “A celebration of our lifestyle” to be held in the George Brown Darwin Botanical Gardens. Together with community organisations, this free event will be a celebration of all that makes the Territory truly unique with a range of displays, activities, competitions, talks and entertainment for the whole family. For chairman of Territory Proud Geoff Goodrich, the partnership made perfect sense. “Territory Made and Territory Proud are a natural fit. We share a passion, a vision and have much to gain by working together.

The future looks bright and I’m looking forward to working with Sarah to help Territorians achieve their goals”, said Mr Goodrich.
